CVE-2021-22053 is a vulnerability in applications using both spring-cloud-netflix-hystrix-dashboard and spring-boot-starter-thymeleaf. The issue arises when a request is made to /hystrix/monitor;[user-provided data], where the path elements after hystrix/monitor are evaluated as Spring Expression Language (SpringEL) expressions during Thymeleaf view template resolution. This allows attackers to inject and execute arbitrary code via crafted request URIs.

If you can’t patch tonight, do this now.
/hystrix/monitor endpoint, implement input validation to prevent malicious SpringEL expressions, and use web application firewalls to block suspicious requests targeting this path.Patch, then assume compromise.
