CVE-2021-27137 is a stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability in DD-WRT firmware before build 45724. The flaw is located in router/upnp/src/ssdp.c in the ssdp_msearch code path, where unsafe use of strcpy in UPnP SSDP request handling can copy attacker-controlled data into an internal fixed-size buffer without proper bounds checking. The vulnerable path is reachable via a crafted SSDP M-SEARCH request, including oversized ST:uuid values, allowing a remote unauthenticated attacker to trigger memory corruption when UPnP is enabled. Depending on exploit reliability and target conditions, successful exploitation can result in process crash, denial of service, or arbitrary code execution on the affected router.
