CVE-2021-30116 is a critical vulnerability affecting Kaseya VSA before version 9.5.7. The issue combines an unauthenticated credential disclosure condition with a business logic flaw in the on-premises agent download workflow exposed through the default download page. When a Windows agent is downloaded and installed, agent credentials are generated and stored in a configuration file, including an agent identifier and password. Those credentials can then be used against the download functionality to authenticate as an agent and obtain a valid session cookie. Due to insufficient separation between agent-intended functionality and broader application session handling, the resulting session can be reused to bypass intended authentication boundaries and access services not meant to be available to agents. The flaw was exploited in the wild in July 2021.
