CVE-2021-45420 affects Emerson Dixell XWEB-500 products. The vulnerability is an arbitrary file write issue in the CGI endpoints /cgi-bin/logo_extra_upload.cgi, /cgi-bin/cal_save.cgi, and /cgi-bin/lo_utils.cgi. Based on the provided information, a remote attacker can write arbitrary files to the target system without any authentication. This unsafe handling of file write operations can allow an attacker to place attacker-controlled files in arbitrary locations on the device, resulting in service disruption and potentially enabling remote code execution depending on what files can be overwritten or introduced and how the system processes them.
