CVE-2021-47378 is a use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel NVMe over RDMA transport. During RDMA connection-establishment error handling, the queue pair could be destroyed from the connection-manager event handler before the RDMA connection-manager identifier was destroyed. A subsequent connection-manager event could then access the already destroyed queue pair. The fix changes teardown ordering so that the connection-manager identifier is destroyed before the queue pair, and defers queue-pair destruction to the queue-allocation error path after connection-manager teardown.
