CVE-2022-1789 is a NULL pointer dereference in the Linux kernel KVM MMU INVPCID guest-virtual-address invalidation path. With KVM shadow paging enabled, execution of the x86 INVPCID instruction while the guest has CR0.PG cleared can invoke the invalidation path before the invlpg callback has been initialized, causing the host kernel to dereference a NULL callback pointer.
