CVE-2022-23494 is a cross-site scripting vulnerability in TinyMCE, the open source rich text editor. The flaw affects the handling of content passed to TinyMCE alert and confirm dialogs. When these dialogs are supplied with malicious HTML, insufficient sanitization after unwrapping invalid elements can allow attacker-controlled markup to be rendered in a way that leads to arbitrary JavaScript execution in the browser. The issue can be reached through plugins that invoke these dialogs, including the image plugin during certain error conditions.
