CVE-2022-26373 is a speculative-execution information-disclosure vulnerability in certain Intel processors supporting Enhanced Indirect Branch Restricted Speculation (eIBRS). Following a Return Stack Buffer (RSB) barrier, including after a VM exit or an Indirect Branch Prediction Barrier event, an unbalanced near RET can be speculatively predicted to the linear address following the most recent near CALL executed before the barrier. This cross-context RSB target can be used until the first post-barrier CALL retires, undermining intended predictor isolation between contexts.
