CVE-2022-29127 is a Microsoft BitLocker security feature bypass vulnerability in legacy integrity validation within the Windows boot environment. The flaw was caused by BitLocker using an incorrect offset while walking associated boot options. As a result, crafted BCD entries could contain dangerous associated options that were not properly covered by legacy integrity validation checks, allowing malicious boot configuration changes to evade detection. The issue affects the trust decisions BitLocker makes when determining whether the boot chain has been modified in a way that should block transparent unlock or require recovery.
