CVE-2022-3028 is a race condition in the Linux kernel XFRM IP packet-transformation subsystem. Simultaneous invocations of xfrm_probe_algs can concurrently update availability fields in the authentication-algorithm list (aalg_list), potentially resulting in an out-of-bounds write or an out-of-bounds read. Data read beyond bounds may be copied into a socket, exposing kernel heap memory.

A high-severity local race-condition vulnerability in the Linux kernel XFRM packet-transformation subsystem. Concurrent xfrm_probe_algs calls can cause an out-of-bounds write or disclose kernel heap memory through an out-of-bounds read copied to a socket.

Linux kernel XFRM race condition in xfrm_probe_algs that can result in out-of-bounds reads or writes.
