CVE-2022-33324 is an improper resource shutdown or release vulnerability (CWE-404) affecting multiple Mitsubishi Electric MELSEC iQ-R Series, iQ-L Series, and MELIPC Series modules. The vulnerability exists in the Ethernet communication module firmware, where specially crafted packets sent by a remote, unauthenticated attacker can trigger a denial of service condition. The affected module becomes unresponsive to Ethernet communication and requires a system reset to recover.
