A critical unauthenticated remote code execution vulnerability exists in Hitachi Vantara Pentaho Business Analytics Server Enterprise Edition prior to versions 9.4.0.1 and 9.3.0.2. The vulnerability arises from improper handling of property values in certain web services, specifically the /api/ldap/config/ldapTreeNodeChildren/require.js endpoint, which allows server-side template injection (SSTI). Attackers can inject Spring template expressions that are interpreted downstream, leading to arbitrary command execution via Java's Runtime.getRuntime().exec(). The vulnerability is exploitable without authentication and affects only the enterprise edition.

This repository contains a single Metasploit module targeting Hitachi Vantara Pentaho Business Analytics Server. The module exploits two chained vulnerabilities: an authentication bypass (CVE-2022-43939) and a server-side template injection (SSTI, CVE-2022-43769). By abusing a regex flaw in the authentication mechanism, the module gains unauthorized access to sensitive endpoints, specifically '/api/ldap/config/ldapTreeNodeChildren'. It then leverages SSTI in the 'url' parameter to execute arbitrary Java code, resulting in remote code execution as the Pentaho server user. The module supports multiple payloads and platforms (Windows, Linux, Unix), and can deliver reverse shells or Meterpreter sessions. The exploit is fully weaponized, allowing for customizable payloads and reliable exploitation. The only file present is a Ruby Metasploit module, structured with standard Metasploit conventions, and is intended for use within the Metasploit Framework.
