A vulnerability in multiple Siemens SIPROTEC 5 devices and communication modules allows secure client-initiated renegotiations in SSL/TLS to be improperly restricted. This flaw enables an attacker to repeatedly initiate renegotiations on ports 443/tcp and 4443/tcp, potentially exhausting device resources and causing a denial of service (DoS) for the duration of the attack. The vulnerability affects a wide range of SIPROTEC 5 models and communication modules with firmware versions below specified fixed releases.
