CVE-2022-48618 is a vulnerability in Apple operating systems (macOS Ventura, watchOS, iOS, iPadOS, tvOS) where an attacker with arbitrary read and write capabilities can bypass Pointer Authentication. The vulnerability was addressed by Apple with improved checks in the affected OS versions. Pointer Authentication is a security feature designed to mitigate exploitation by protecting pointers from modification; bypassing it can allow attackers to execute arbitrary code or escalate privileges.
