CVE-2022-48701 is an out-of-bounds read in the Linux kernel ALSA USB-audio subsystem. The flaw resides in __snd_usb_parse_audio_interface(), which could access interface-descriptor data beyond valid bounds when parsing a malformed USB audio device that exposes fewer interfaces than expected. The upstream fix validates the number of interfaces before performing the affected parsing.
