CVE-2022-48836 is an improper input-type validation flaw in the Linux kernel Aiptek tablet input driver. During device setup, the driver previously validated only the number of USB endpoints rather than confirming that the endpoints had the types required for its URB operations. A malformed or unexpected endpoint descriptor could consequently cause the driver to submit a URB using an incompatible endpoint type, triggering a warning in usb_submit_urb(). The fix replaces the endpoint-count validation with usb_find_common_endpoints() to locate and validate suitable endpoints.
