CVE-2022-49846 is a slab out-of-bounds write vulnerability in the Linux kernel UDF filesystem implementation. While processing UDF directory entries, udf_find_entry() can allocate an insufficient buffer and subsequently copy directory-entry data beyond the allocation boundary. The flaw was detected by KASAN during a filesystem lookup/open operation; the reported case wrote 105 bytes starting 150 bytes into a 256-byte slab allocation.
