CVE-2022-49991 is a Linux kernel hugetlb memory-management flaw in hugetlb_mcopy_atomic_pte. In the MCOPY_ATOMIC_CONTINUE path for a non-shared VMA, page-cache pages installed into page-table entries are incorrectly treated as newly anonymous mapped huge pages. The kernel consequently invokes hugepage_add_new_anon_rmap, corrupting the page->mapping field relied upon by page-cache code.
