CVE-2022-50050 is a potential out-of-bounds write in the Linux kernel ASoC SOF Intel HDA component. The affected code uses the return value of snprintf() after formatted output is truncated. Because snprintf() returns the length that would have been produced rather than the bounded number of bytes actually written, subsequent use of that value can exceed the destination-buffer boundary. The upstream correction uses scnprintf(), whose return value is constrained to the supplied buffer size.
