CVE-2023-1382 is a race condition in the Linux kernel Transparent Inter-Process Communication (TIPC) protocol server code. A race between allocation of a TIPC connection object and initialization of its socket member can allow code in net/tipc/topsrv.c to access the socket's sk member before the socket pointer is initialized. The resulting NULL pointer dereference occurs in the tipc_conn_close path and can crash the kernel.
