CVE-2023-2235 is a use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel Performance Events subsystem. The perf_group_detach function failed to validate sibling events' attach_state before invoking add_event_to_groups(). A concurrent remove_on_exec path can invoke list_del_event() before the sibling event is detached from its group, leaving perf_group_detach to operate on a dangling pointer.
