CVE-2023-2437 is an authentication bypass vulnerability in the UserPro plugin for WordPress affecting versions up to and including 5.1.1. The flaw is caused by insufficient verification of the user identity supplied during the plugin's Facebook login flow. Because the plugin does not adequately validate that the supplied Facebook-linked identity actually corresponds to the legitimate account owner, an unauthenticated attacker can authenticate as an existing site user if the attacker can provide that user's email address. This can include high-privilege accounts such as administrators. The issue is particularly dangerous when combined with other vulnerabilities that disclose user email addresses, enabling reliable account takeover.
