CVE-2023-27351 is an improper authentication vulnerability in PaperCut NG/MF that allows a remote attacker to bypass authentication on affected application servers. The flaw exists in the SecurityRequestFilter class and is caused by improper implementation of the authentication algorithm. Reported affected versions include PaperCut NG 22.0.5 (Build 63914), and broader reporting indicates PaperCut MF/NG version 15.0 or later prior to vendor fixes. The issue can be exploited without prior authentication, enabling unauthorized access to functionality that should be restricted to authenticated users. The vulnerability has been observed in active exploitation and has been associated with follow-on intrusion activity by ransomware operators.
