An improper sanitization vulnerability exists in Chamilo LMS (<= v1.11.20) in the file main/inc/lib/fileUpload.lib.php on Windows and Apache installations. The flaw allows attackers to bypass file upload security mechanisms and upload a .htaccess file, which can be used to achieve remote code execution. The vulnerability can be exploited by privileged attackers directly, or by unauthenticated attackers if chained with other vulnerabilities such as CVE-2023-3533 (arbitrary file write).
