CVE-2023-36847 is a missing authentication for critical function vulnerability in Juniper Networks Junos OS on EX Series devices affecting the J-Web management interface. A specific J-Web application function responsible for application package handling can be reached without authentication, allowing an unauthenticated network attacker to upload arbitrary files to the device. Juniper states this results in limited impact to the integrity of a certain part of the file system. On its own, the flaw is an arbitrary file upload and file system integrity issue; in combination with other contemporaneously disclosed J-Web vulnerabilities, it can be used as part of a pre-authentication remote code execution chain.
