CVE-2023-38409 is a memory-corruption vulnerability in the Linux kernel Framebuffer Console (fbcon) subsystem before Linux kernel 6.2.12. In set_con2fb_map, an assignment is performed only for the first virtual console, allowing fbcon_registered_fb and fbcon_display to become desynchronized during fbcon_mode_deleted. Consequently, con2fb_map can retain a reference to an obsolete framebuffer-information object.
