CVE-2023-39325 (GO-2023-2102) is an uncontrolled resource-consumption vulnerability in Go HTTP/2 server handling in the standard-library net/http package and golang.org/x/net/http2. A malicious client can rapidly open HTTP/2 streams, initiate requests, and immediately send stream resets while the corresponding request handlers continue executing. Before the fix, resetting an in-flight stream freed stream-concurrency capacity without bounding the number of executing handler goroutines, permitting the client to repeatedly create new streams while prior handlers remained active. This bypasses the intended effective protection of Server.MaxConcurrentStreams. Affected versions include Go releases before 1.20.10 and 1.21.3, and golang.org/x/net/http2 before v0.17.0. The issue is related to the HTTP/2 Rapid Reset attack tracked separately as CVE-2023-44487.
