CVE-2023-45290 is an improper input-validation flaw in Go's net/http multipart form parsing. Before the fix, aggregate multipart form-size limits were not applied to memory consumed while reading an individual form line. An attacker can submit multipart input containing an exceptionally long line, causing arbitrarily large memory allocation. The vulnerable parsing path is reachable directly through Request.ParseMultipartForm and indirectly through Request.FormValue, Request.PostFormValue, and Request.FormFile. The corrected implementation enforces a maximum size for multipart form lines.
