CVE-2023-45871 is a buffer-overflow vulnerability in the Linux kernel Intel IGB Ethernet driver before version 6.5.3. The flaw resides in igb_configure_rx_ring, which can configure receive buffers that are inadequate for frames exceeding the configured MTU. Processing an oversized frame can cause packet contents to overflow into kernel ring-buffer memory.
