CVE-2023-4699 is a missing authentication vulnerability affecting multiple Mitsubishi Electric industrial controller product lines, including MELSEC-F, MELSEC iQ-F, MELSEC iQ-R, MELSEC iQ-L, MELSEC Q, MELSEC-L series, and several Mitsubishi Electric CNC series. The vulnerability allows a remote, unauthenticated attacker to execute arbitrary commands on the affected devices by sending specially crafted packets. This is due to the lack of authentication checks for critical functions exposed by the devices, enabling attackers to interact with sensitive device operations without credentials.
