CVE-2023-47537 is an improper certificate validation vulnerability in Fortinet FortiOS affecting FortiOS 7.4.0 through 7.4.1, 7.2.0 through 7.2.6, 7.0.0 through 7.0.15, and all FortiOS 6.4 versions. The flaw affects the FortiLink communication channel between a FortiOS device and FortiSwitch. Because certificate validation is not performed correctly, a remote, unauthenticated attacker positioned on the network path can impersonate a trusted endpoint and intercept protected communications, enabling a man-in-the-middle condition on the FortiLink channel.
