CVE-2023-52425 is an uncontrolled resource-consumption vulnerability in Expat (libexpat) through version 2.5.0. When parsing a large XML token that spans multiple input-buffer fills, the parser repeatedly reparses the token from its beginning. A crafted XML document can therefore cause disproportionate processing overhead and exhaust system resources.
