CVE-2023-52451 is an out-of-bounds read in the Linux kernel PowerPC pseries memory-hotplug implementation. In dlpar_memory_remove_by_index(), a failed lookup of a Logical Memory Block for a supplied Dynamic Reconfiguration Connector index leaves the cursor positioned one element past the end of the drmem LMB array. A subsequent debug message dereferences lmb->base_addr, resulting in a slab out-of-bounds read. The defect was identified by code inspection and confirmed with KASAN during a pseries memory hot-remove operation.
