CVE-2023-52606 is an insufficient input-size validation vulnerability in the Linux kernel PowerPC instruction-emulation code. Vector-operation sizes are determined by analyse_instr(), while floating-point and VMX emulation logic in sstep.c assumes a fixed maximum size. A size exceeding that assumption can cause unintended kernel stack corruption.
