CVE-2023-53213 is an out-of-bounds read in the Linux kernel Broadcom FullMAC Wi-Fi driver (brcmfmac). The brcmf_get_assoc_ies() function passes association-information request or response lengths to kmemdup() without first ensuring they are within the WL_EXTRA_BUF_MAX backing-buffer size. A USB device can provide an oversized length through a USB Request Block, causing kmemdup() to read beyond the allocated slab buffer. The upstream fix validates both association-information request and response lengths before copying.
