CVE-2023-5455 is a cross-site request forgery vulnerability in the FreeIPA ipa/session/login_password endpoint affecting all supported IPA versions. Certain FreeIPA HTTP endpoints do not ensure CSRF protection, allowing an attacker to induce a user to submit a request that performs actions in the user’s context. The flaw cannot be used to reflect a cookie for an already authenticated user; exploitation requires a new authentication attempt.
