CVE-2023-6318 is an authenticated OS command injection vulnerability in LG webOS 5 through 7, specifically in the processAnalyticsReport method of the com.webos.service.cloudupload service. When the type parameter is set to analytic, the reportFile parameter is incorporated into a system command without proper sanitization, allowing attacker-controlled input to reach shell execution. The issue was reported on webOS 5.5.0 - 04.50.51 on OLED55CXPUA, webOS 6.3.3-442 - 03.36.50 on OLED48C1PUB, and webOS 7.3.1-43 - 03.33.85 on OLED55A23LA. Supporting reporting indicates the vulnerable method can be reached indirectly through system.notifications/createAlert using the onclose parameter to trigger internal requests, and attackers can use com.webos.service.downloadmanager to create arbitrary files in /media/internal/downloads/ needed for exploitation.
