CVE-2024-13984 is a path traversal vulnerability in the rptsvr component of QiAnXin TianQing Management Center affecting versions up to and including 6.7.0.4130. The issue is present in the /rptsvr/upload endpoint, which does not properly sanitize the filename parameter supplied in multipart/form-data requests. An unauthenticated attacker can exploit this weakness to traverse directories and upload files to arbitrary locations on the server rather than being constrained to the intended upload path. Because this can allow placement of attacker-controlled executable content into web-accessible directories, the vulnerability can potentially be escalated to remote code execution. Exploitation in the wild was first observed by the Shadowserver Foundation on 2024-08-23 UTC.
