CVE-2024-20439 is a critical authentication vulnerability in Cisco Smart Licensing Utility (CSLU) caused by the presence of an undocumented static credential for an administrative account. An unauthenticated remote attacker can exploit the issue by authenticating with the built-in credential and then accessing the affected system through the CSLU application API. Affected versions include CSLU 2.0.0, 2.1.0, and 2.2.0. The flaw effectively introduces a hard-coded administrative access path that bypasses normal credential management and exposes the application to unauthorized remote administration.
