CVE-2024-24786 is an infinite-loop flaw in the Go Protocol Buffers implementation's encoding/protojson and internal/encoding/json packages. The protojson.Unmarshal function can fail to terminate when processing certain malformed JSON inputs. The condition occurs when unmarshaling into a protobuf message containing a google.protobuf.Any field, or when UnmarshalOptions.DiscardUnknown is enabled.
