CVE-2024-26586 is a stack-based memory-corruption vulnerability in the Linux kernel mlxsw_spectrum driver's spectrum_acl_tcam ACL-group handling. On Spectrum-2 and newer ASICs, firmware can report a maximum ACL-group size greater than the number of ACL entries representable by the PAGT hardware-register layout. When the driver updates an ACL group requiring more than 16 ACLs, mlxsw_sp_acl_tcam_group_update() can corrupt the kernel stack. The fix caps the ACL-group size to the lower of the firmware-reported maximum and the PAGT register capacity.
