CVE-2024-26638 is a Linux kernel vulnerability in the Network Block Device (NBD) driver. The NBD reply-receive path creates a struct msghdr without completely initializing it. Consequently, the msg_get_inq member may retain an uninitialized value that is consumed during TCP receive processing. The upstream correction fully zero-initializes struct msghdr, including fields added in newer kernel versions.
