CVE-2024-26859 is a race-condition use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel bnx2x Ethernet driver. During PCI Enhanced Error Handling recovery, transmit-timeout reset work can concurrently invoke driver unload operations with the EEH slot-reset path. Both paths may free receive scatter-gather entries; one path clears the associated page reference after DMA unmapping while the other subsequently dereferences it during receive-SGE cleanup. The fix verifies page-pool allocations before freeing them, preventing access to a previously freed or cleared page reference.
