CVE-2024-27020 is a race condition in the Linux kernel Netfilter nf_tables subsystem. The internal __nft_expr_type_get() function iterates over the nf_tables_expressions list without synchronization while nft_unregister_expr() can concurrently unregister an expression type and modify that list. The fix performs list traversal with list_for_each_entry_rcu() and protects the complete expression-type lookup in nft_expr_type_get() with an RCU read-side critical section.
