CVE-2024-28180 is an improper handling of highly compressed data vulnerability in the Go go-jose implementation of JOSE standards. The Decrypt and DecryptMulti JWE-processing functions could decompress attacker-supplied payloads without effective bounds, allowing compressed data to expand disproportionately and consume excessive memory and CPU. Fixed releases enforce an error when decompressed data exceeds 250 kB or ten times the compressed size, whichever limit is greater.
