CVE-2024-28890 is a critical unrestricted file upload vulnerability in the Forminator plugin for WordPress. Forminator versions prior to 1.29.0 are described as allowing upload of files with dangerous types due to insufficient validation of uploaded content. Successful exploitation allows a remote attacker to place malicious files on the server and, where the server executes or exposes those files, use them to compromise the affected site. Reported consequences include disclosure of sensitive information, unauthorized modification of site content, and denial of service. Some reporting also characterizes the flaw as enabling upload and execution of malicious code on the website server.
