CVE-2024-29415 is an SSRF vulnerability in the Node.js ip package through version 2.0.1. The package's isPublic logic improperly classifies certain non-canonical textual representations of loopback or otherwise non-public IP addresses as globally routable. Examples include abbreviated, octal-like, IPv6-expanded, and IPv4-mapped IPv6 representations. Applications that rely on isPublic to prevent requests to internal destinations can therefore be bypassed. The issue is an incomplete fix for CVE-2023-42282. SAP Build Apps versions earlier than 4.11.130 are affected through an external Node.js component.
