CVE-2024-29944 is a critical Firefox and Firefox ESR vulnerability in which an attacker can inject an event handler into a privileged object, resulting in arbitrary JavaScript execution in the browser parent process. The flaw enables execution within a more privileged context than intended and constitutes a sandbox or security-boundary bypass leading to privilege escalation. It affects Desktop Firefox prior to 124.0.1 and Firefox ESR prior to 115.9.1. Mobile versions of Firefox are not affected.
