CVE-2024-32651 is a critical unauthenticated remote code execution vulnerability in changedetection.io affecting versions prior to 0.45.21. The flaw is caused by server-side template injection in a user-controlled body field that is rendered by a non-sandboxed Jinja2 template engine. By supplying crafted template expressions, a remote attacker can cause the application to evaluate attacker-controlled input on the server and execute arbitrary system commands. Because the vulnerable functionality is reachable without authentication in default deployments, exploitation can be performed remotely without prior access. Successful exploitation can lead to full compromise of the host or container running changedetection.io.

This repository contains a working exploit for CVE-2024-32651, a remote code execution (RCE) vulnerability in changedetection.io versions 0.45.20 and below. The exploit leverages a server-side template injection (SSTI) vulnerability to execute arbitrary Python code on the server. The main file, CVE-2024-32651.py, is a Python script that automates the exploitation process: it fetches a CSRF token, submits a form to the target application, and then sends a malicious payload that triggers a reverse shell back to the attacker's machine. The attacker must provide the target's base URL, their own IP and port for the reverse shell, and optionally a notification URL. The README.md provides detailed usage instructions and background on the vulnerability. The exploit is operational and provides a reverse shell if successful, making it a serious threat to unpatched changedetection.io instances.
