CVE-2024-35847 is a double-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel GICv3 Interrupt Translation Service virtual processing element IRQ-domain allocation error path. When its_vpe_init() fails after at least one interrupt has been allocated, its_vpe_irq_domain_free() releases the interrupts, area bitmap, and vprop_page. The allocation function subsequently releases the area bitmap and vprop_page a second time. The upstream correction unconditionally delegates cleanup to its_vpe_irq_domain_free() and removes the duplicate bitmap and vprop_page frees from its_vpe_irq_domain_alloc().

A Linux kernel double-free vulnerability in the GICv3 Interrupt Translation Service (ITS) virtual processing element IRQ-domain allocation error path. It can occur after partial interrupt allocation when initialization fails, potentially affecting confidentiality, integrity, and availability for a local authenticated attacker.
A locally exploitable vulnerability requiring low privileges, with high impact to confidentiality, integrity, and availability according to the supplied CVSS vector.
